Cappadocia/Kapadokya – one more time

Last weekend I visited Cappadocia/Kapadokya for the third time – it was just as magical as ever. I always love climbing around the peri bacaları, ferry chimneys, and the cool air was a welcome change from sweaty Alanya. I didn’t go on a balloon trip, but I lived vicariously through the students’ photographs to see the valleys and rocks from 600 meters in the sky. On the way out of the region, we stopped for lunch at a riverside restaurant in Ihlara Valley. Curled up in a poncho and sipping on çay next to a clay-brown river – the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
