Mom’s flight was delayed a few hours, which led to a long adventure of searching the city for her. After finally tracking her down, we met up with my friends for tapas and sangria. Madrid is a really fantastic city – full of life and noise and lights. I loved walking through the narrow streets, looking into the windows of cafes and taverns, and wandering through art museums. It was glorious to spend the night with friends from Georgetown, to meet men in kilts, and finding gecko sculptures on walls.
