Sofia, Bulgaria

We ended our Eastern European adventure in Sofia. Although we didn’t have much time in the city, we spent our few hours in Bulgaria’s capital eating delicious Bulgarian food and standing in line to go to church. The sky, which opened up occasionally to drop rain on us, provided a spectacular background for pictures of the Alexander Nevsky cathedral. Other than that, we were really quite boring in Sofia – cozying up in a coffee shop with cappuccinos, listening to other hostel-goers yell from the courtyard, enjoying much needed showers. Although I suppose we had a bit of crazy fun when Catherine was catapulting croutons from a spoon at the dinner table.
